Congratulations!  You are on your way to becoming part of an elite team, an SDI Dive Professional.

The SDI Instructor Course is designed to teach current Divemasters or Assistant Instructors the knowledge and skills to safely function as an independent Open Water Diver (OWD) Instructor. The program is divided into 2 sections, an Instructor Development Course (IDC) and an Instructor Evaluation Course (IEC). The first section teaches the candidates how to properly teach and design courses, the second section evaluates the candidates teaching of open water skills.

Additional Details

Candidate Prerequisites:

1. Minimum age 18 years old
2. Certfied diver for a minimum of six (6) months
3. Provide proof of 100 logged dives completed in a number of different environments and at varying depths
4. Be certified as an SDI Assistant Instructor or SDI Divemaster or equivalent
5. Provide proof of current CPR, First Aid and Oxygen Provider 

All Candidates must complete:

SDI Liability Release and Express Assumption of Risk Form
Submit an SDI Medical Statement Form signed by a licensed physician
