SDI UNDERWATER NAVIGATION DIVER SPECIALTY COURSE
Description
UNDERWATER NAVIGATION
One of the most important skills a diver can have is good navigation. This could be with a compass or by natural formations. The SDI Underwater Navigation Diver course will teach you the necessary skills to navigate using a compass and natural navigation.
Required Gear: Underwater Compass
During the course your SDI Instructor will teach you:
- Compass features
- Distance estimating
- Reading river / lake / ocean bottom contours
- Practice skills
Training will consist of each student completing the on-line course prior to your dives. A classroom session will be held here at Adventure Divers to review the on-line component and practice land navigation with your compass. Following this session you will complete two - three dives with your instructor. All your dives will be held locally during our summer season. Prior to and following each dive you will complete a briefing and de-briefing or your dive.
This course is a full specialty course and a credit towards your Advanced Diver Certification. At the successful completion of your course you will receive your SDI Underwater Navigation Diver Certification Card.
